Dd9 being bullied

Hi, dd9 (yr4) is being bullied and picked on.
She asked to move as the boy she was sat next to kept losing his temper and frightened her with his actions especially when he didn’t get his own way. He was also copying dds work/answers in tests,
Dd was moved and sat at another table. Here she has been constantly picked at, and now is sat next to a bully of a girl. She's put her arm across dds face so she can’t do her work, told dd that she found a piece of paper saying (bully is ugly) can she have a sample of her writing (dd didn’t oblige), trapped dds foot with her chair, huffed and turned her back and ignored her. Today she asked a friend to go up to dd to ask her when she last had a bath.
I’ve emailed the school and am waiting on their response.
Any ideas what else to do? I’m at a loss as to how unkind these kids are. We had an incident last year where it was ‘I’m saving a seat for x’ which is not on and unkind.
