Stressed out at the thought of bullying

My first post and not sure if I've posted in the correct place.

My daughter is 4 and starts school in August. I've been looking forward to her starting school but worried a bit about her making friends etc. But over the past week or so I've been thinking about bullying at school. And then heard about a friends daughter who tried to commit suicide because of bullying. I'm getting quite stressed about it all.

It stems from me feeling guilty that she doesn't really have anyone outside of nursery to play with. No cousins or friends children her age to play with.
I've been reading some of the threads on here. Not good reading and my heart goes out to all of them.

I'm looking for advice to help my daughter deal with this if it ever happens and how to help her be more confident. Smile

Sorry no advice, mine have not started schools yet but I'm sure all parents feel the same.

Well whatever your DD is like - it's irrelevant - the issue is always with the bully and not the victim. There is nothing 'wrong' with the victim and everything wrong with the bully - they find a weakness and target it. You change that weakness and they target something else.

Teach you DD to be kind and report anything nasty.
