My DS has finally poured out details of the bullying we have long suspected. Turns out he was ashamed to tell us exactly what they are saying - that he is "gay" and involved in "sex" - because these are terms of such abuse in the playground and people subjected to these insults are ashamed of it. I have the impression he wanders around alone in the playground while others make comments as he passes by. Now he has joined the church choir in a different village and children there are also calling him "gay". I will contact the school and the choirleader of course but think the only way is to teach him to turn the other cheek. What retorts can anyone advise to keep the bullies at bay?
