how can i boost EBM?

i am finding it hard to keep up with my dd3 EBM demands when iam out. (thread on sleep). when are the best time sof me to express? is there anything i can do apart from express to increase the amount i am getting?

Early mornings just before first feed or just after to empty breasts is supposed to be good. If your LO is sleeping through - last thing at night should do it. Might just be a case of keep expressing regularly after your LO feeds to build up supply so eventually you are at a level that you need to be. Occasionally though, If you havent been able to express as much as you'd like (and i do mean on the odd occasion) it wouldnt hurt to top up the feed with a fluid oz of cooled boiled water to increase volume. Have you considered that your baby just likes to suck so perhaps a dummy after the bottle might help?

she wont take a dummy. wel lshe will have a few sucks, then spit it out with a look of disgust.

try expressing after she has gone to bed. and do it every night.
then your body will just think that she is having another feed and you should be able to increase the amount

Hi there. I'm also having problems expressing enough.

A couple of days ago I posted about how to deal with two days away from the baby and Mears suggested that I try to express between feeds during the day rather than straight after a feed.

I had been concentrating on expressing after the 6 am feed, but have tried Mears' approach (for which thank you if you are reading).

I was reluctant to do it because I was worried that there wouldn't be enough for ds when he did want to feed, but that hasn't been a problem and the new, more relaxed approach seems to be working. Certainly seems to be increasing my supply much better than the 6am express-fest I was doing before.
