Infant feeding

I think ds has had his last breast feed

Ds is almost 13m and is still having a bf last thing at night and first thing in the morning. The morning one can be as early as 4am but he does then go back to sleep. However he is pulling at me all the time now and I am getting very sore nipples and I think it is time to stop.
Any advice for a smooth bedtime routine tonight and what to do at 4 tomorrow morning?

Does he take a bottle?

He never took a bottle but drinks out of a sippy cup quite happily during the day (He's on to cow's milk now).

My DD just never asked for a feed in the morning so I didn't offer one and that was that (about 3 weeks ago) she has milk from a cup now.

Go with the sippy cup then. Try holding him close so he still gets the cuddle factor out of it. Or, if this doesn't work because he expects a bf from you, can someone else feed him til he's used to it? DSs stopped bf-ing at 12-14 months and it was never a problem for me to give them a bottle at bedtime - very smooth transition.

Didn't stop quite when I was going to as ds was sick for a couple of days but haven't bf since friday morning now. Quite suprised about how quickly AF has returned!
Ds is coping very well. Doesn't go looking for it before bed and in the morning he likes to have a cuddle and nuzzle at my neck for a while.
How long before the milk dries up? Am looking forward to treating myslef to some new bras.
