Infant feeding

***Word of warning *** Breast feeding does not stop ovulation......

No I'm not pregnant again, thankfully.

But just to let you know AF has arrived with a vengeance today, and I'm still nearly fully breast-feeding twins, that means 8 feeds a day in total. (they do have one bottle at bedtime, though, at about 7pm)

I did have an idea that I had started ovulating again a few weeks back. So I was very careful.

Also, be aware that the twins are only 6.5 months old, and my periods have returned much sooner than dd1 who I breast fed till 9 months old, but I thinks periods started when she was about 7 or 8 months.

I read somewhere that night feeds have a bearing on ovulation, but the babies have slept through from about 9 weeks, so they have not had night feeds for ages.

Wow! Thanks for the warning. I'll be more careful from now. I thought fully BFing was enough to keep the eggs at bay.

Another one here, I was still fully breastfeeding, though dd was sleeping through the night and I fell pregnant with dd2.

I think they say that you have to be feeding at least 6 hourly (and probably more often than that) for it to prevent ovulation. And even then, there'll be exceptions, won't there? So if you're not feeding at night, you're probably not doing enough IYSWIM
