Breastfeeding my 11 month old at night but thinking of expressing for my ill 3 year old. Could it help her?

I am feeding dd2 mostly just at night now. My 3.5 year old dd has had a difficult 6 weeks - in hospital 3 times with asthma attacks triggered by colds/chest infections.

I am looking for ways to give her health a boost and I was thinking tonight that I could express milk for her. I am wondering if I started expressing during the day could I build up my supply again and would it be of benefit to her.

She has asthma/eczema/allergies.

It would be of benefit to her and if you have the time, why not?

Sounds like a great idea! No harm at all in trying.

If she will drink it then give it a shot. I think I read somewhere that even 3oz of bm a day will convey benefits to a child (but don't quote me on that ).

DD1 self weaned in Sept and asked me to express milk for her once DD3 was born. I expressed a little bit for her today which she really enjoyed. As she also has the asthma/excema/allergies trifecta so if she gets ill over the winter I will try to give her some each day.

No experience suiledon but it certainly won't hurt!

I'll see if I can find anything for you in any of my books, or online
