Hello, we did and it was great. DD had vomitting for months, at it's worst she brought back the whole bottle 33 nights out of 60 and on the other nights it was just half the bottle. Eventually we had a referral and she had domperidobe alonside gavi, it worked on the very first night. I cannot tell you how thrilled we were. Dd was gaining very little weight for months on end.

How old is your dd? How long has she been suffering?it's horrible eh? So upsetting to see them in so much pain.

I had had mixed reports but it worked for us. I gave it in the bottle, seemed to be just fine. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Sorry, clarification, I had to put the Dom in the bottle as I had to give gavi by syringe too. If just on Dom I would give it just before the feed x

I used domperidone after trying gaviscon which completely constipated DD. Domperidone really worked for her and controlled both the vomiting and the constant pain.

I used a syringe to give the dom. before bfing as I had had enough of faffing with bottles after the gaviscon.

sorry to disappear but thank you! DD is 8 weeks, has been projectile vomiting since about 2wks and the acid really seems to hurt. gaviscon seemed to sort the vomiting but not the acid, and it really unged her up and gave her awful wind.

she took the domperidone from a syringe before her feed without any fuss last night and seemed more settled at bedtime - maybe cos she'd done a mammoth poo!

interesting to know that yo can give bot h, dr didnt mention it, but he seemed unsure on the whole thing!
thanks for your positive feedback - cross your fingers for us!

Gavi bunged dd up too but she needed both. We were referred to a specialist as she went for practically year without gaining more than 1lb. This made her late to wean but no affects now. She is very tall and full of life. If she is run down with a heavy cold or very very tired her bodies first reaction is to vomit! After we had weaned her off the meds I still gave them with a heavy cold as the mucus just upsets her tummy, followed by a few nights of vomiting.

She is now 2.6 and I keep some gavi in the cupboard.... Just in case ...

Havent tried domperidone but tbh my acid reflux is amazingly better if I stay off wheat and sugar (which I find very hard)

DS has been on Domperidone for the last 3yrs it seems to be working well for him although he does have Omeprazole as well. DS's reflux was pretty bad his was coming right up and spilling into his lungs. (he has cf and is pancreatic insuficiant) its helping so hopefully your LO will start to feel better soon.

thank you all. only a couple of days in and she seems to be more comfortable at night especially. she is vomiting a little more than with the gaviscon but seems not to have as much actual acid rising, more like normal possiting.
fingers crossed.
Riven, i hope your own reflux gets sorted, good luck.

Riven - sorry only just seen your post! I can really sympathise...it makes life very unpleasant

The valve at the top of my gullet has been partially worn away due to reflux and I have a constant feeling of having something "stuck" in my throat.

I was on omeprazole which was useless, then they put my on lansoprazole which does work better but makes me feel sick/bloated. I drink Gaviscon by the litre!!!

I have found though (in trying to lose weight) that if I stay off wheat and sugary things my reflux is LOADS better - to the point where I dont have to take the meds. However, with 2 young kids and not much will power it is tough to stick to a wheat free diet some days. (I have also lost over half a stone!)

I am awaiting my next gastro app to see wether they are going to do a endoscopy but the gastro nurse was quite dismissive about my symptoms I think because I am only 37 the feeling is there cant be anything serious wrong

Have you tried altering your diet before for the reflux???
