Do breasts 'learn' when milk is not needed?!

Hi All... my 3 month old DS has recently started sleeping through the night (11 hours) and whilst this is fab to get unbroken sleep, when I wake up my boobs feel like they're going to explode as they're so full its painful and more often than not are leaking like crazy already!

My question is, will they adjust so that milk is not needed during the night any more? I bf my daughter, although she didn't sleep through until she was on solids, so my milk production was less anyway and it wasn't a problem then.

Will the boobs learn?!

Thanks

Yes. Mine definitely did, just give it a few days to settle down.

I slept on a towel till they got the hang of it...

Thanks both, thats good to know... hopefully they'll settle down soon then as it's been a while now. At the moment I'm waking up every morning feeling like I've had a dodgy boob job as they're so big and like rocks! Ouch!

I shall definitely take your advice MrsBadger and sleep on a towel (why didn't I think of that?!!)
