That is what i am thinking fruit. Did not successfully express last time, but used a manual one.

Think electric will be a better success but don't want to spend a fortune in case it does make a difference.

The Lactaline is a good one to buy second hand as the milk is totally separated from the motor part, so all contact parts can be well sterilised.

I bought my trusty Lactaline on ebay, and it was fantastic

Would have no problems with this, since they're sterilised. Any used whilst in hospital would be "2nd hand" and my mw lent me a couple to try out before buying my own.

Yes, I did. I thought the idea was horrible before DS arrived (especilly as a colleague from work gave me mine!) but after using the hospital ones for 2 weeks was reassured; everything is sterilised hundreds of times afterall.

Well yes kerry you see I think I was once there. BUT...i also thought as several have said, that when in hospital i used one there and did not think twice about it being used before me, and I have changed my view. I think. I say I think. That is the reason for my post. To help me think whether I have or not.

But now I am confused about what to get...i had considered the Medela mini electric pump, i had made my mind up. But now I am not so sure

a breast pump can't carry diseases though

I would, and did. A friend donated me hers after I lost part of mine. And I uses a hospital one too, which presumably was used by hundreds before me?
