Infant feeding

BFing 8month old and milk seems to have dried up in one breast - also very painful - help!

Am getting really stressed - seems to be no milk at all in left breast, although right one fine, and it's really sore to feed on that side. Am drinking bloody fennel tea non-stop, have just started expressing on left side (20 minutes just produced a pathetic 5ml)and am trying to keep baby interested in left side and feed through the pain, although she's clearly worked out it's not up to much and now def favours the right side. Oh, and she's just got teeth, so when she gets frustrated with nothing happening on left side she gives a good old chew (don't think that's what pain is though - that started before the teeth/frustrated chewing and feels more like it's deeper inside the nipple than a surface wound). Also now look totally lopsided, but that's least of my worries. Any tips?

Could it be a blocked duct? Try a shower and massaging the breast to see if it helps. May be worth going to see your GP about it too. Hope all gets better for you soon and the bfing continues ok.

That sounds like a blocked duct to me. I had this the other day. I had a really hot shower for ten minutes and massaged the boob. Then I noticed a white spot on the nipple. bit gross but I 'popped' it with a sterilised needle and then latched bubs on and finally milk flowed. big relief
