Infant feeding

co-sleeping with a newborn, where can i find a side car for the bed?

Ds is less than week old and is feeding 30 minutes -2 hourly at night? He wont settle in his moses basket so he sleeps next to me. But i am paranoid about smothering him because he's so tiny (born 7lb 4oz has gone down to 6lb 11 oz).

I co slept with ds from about 6 or 8 weeks (he intially would settle after a feed in his moses basket but i preferd feeding laying down so started co-sleeping) I think and never had the same fears about smothering him. But I think it was becasue he was a little bigger at that stage and also i was getting more sleep as i would sleep in with him, which i can't do this time with ds1 getting up at 7 and only being 22 months so has to be supervised. Also ds1 has wondered into our bed a few nights in a row, (he gets taken back to his own room) and i am worried about him clambering over ds2.

I can't seem to find a side cart attachement for the bed online, so please could someone link to one if possible. Our Room is too small to fit a cot in, so looking for something smaller than a standard cot.

Ds is a carpenter so if all else fails i could try and get him to custom build something but finding the time at the moment is hard.

Please help if you can. I would be able to utilise the little sleep i am getting if i was able to switch off a little without the fear of waking up to a listluss baby. I REALLY need some SLEEP!

TIA

Thank you! The BedNest is what i was looking for as it is smaller than a cot. The 2nd link looks good but i am going to try and see if i can find something simular for less now that i know what to look for.

They are quite expensive that's more than we payed for our cot and matress!

Otherwise you could think about something like this snuggle nest
A lot cheaper and should still make you feel happier about minimising potential squashing!
FWIW I co-slept with both my DCs who were preemies, and pretty tiny when brought home from hospital (less than 7lb). I didn't originally intend to but that's how it ended up, and I found I would naturally sleep on my side with my arm protectively encircling them so I couldn't roll onto them. Not what's always advocated but it worked ok for us. They both went into a cot eventually and are pretty good sleepers now!

Jumping Jellyfish-

Thanks for the link! I won one on e-bay last night for £3.70 +P&P so at that baragain price think it will tide us over until ds is a little bigger or i am able to sleep more and am more with-it! I will feel more confident with just co-sleeping with ds next to me.

That's a great price- well done! Hope it works well.
Being cheeky...when your DS has outgrown it, and if you don't have anyone else lined up, I'll buy it off you!! (You can CAT me through MN). Due DC#3 in ~8 weeks and may try something similar rather than just having them "loose" in the bed....

Of course you can, but i don't think i have the CAT app, will look into it now.
