Infant feeding

Please can I end on a frivolous note?

This is likely to be my last ever question, as I have just stopped bfeeding my 17mo DD who is likely to be my last baby!

I have promised myself some nice new undies as a reward for carrying on so long, now I can ditch the sad old nursing bras. Does anyone know how long I should leave it before getting measured up? My boobs don't feel in any way full or sore, but I don't know if they will carry on shrinking for a while. I think I am a bit bigger than before I got pregnant.

I hope you don't mind such a frivolous question! This has been such a helpful board to me over the past 17 months.

I can't help but am interested in the answer - I can't wait to get back into nice undies! Congrats on doing so well, enjoy your shopping spree and hope someone more helpful than me will be along soon

How lovely Fading. Well done to you and it's a wonderful feeling to get some decent underwaer back on.

I think for me it took a few weeks.

I'm also intrigued by this. DS is down to three feeds a day and my breasts are now smaller than before I was pregnant!

Mine were smaller than before I was pregnant, before I stopped, they didn't really change after i stopped. Until about a year later when I started putting on loads of weight as couldn't stop eating choc muffins and didn't have 2 babies sucking the calories out of me any more!!

I may be wrong and hopefully someone will correct me if so, but I think that the fat in your breasts is replaced by milk ducts while you are feeding and the fat then gradually builds back up in the years after you give up ... So they may come back again, I think!
