I am at my wit's end with DDs wind - she is really suffering and we have tried everything else so i thought i'd try fennel tea. how much should i have and how often?

I used to give DS a teaspoon of cooled fennel tea directly before a feed. It worked a little.

olivo - I don't know much about this, sorry, but I think you'd have to drink an enormous amount of fennel tea for it to have any therapeutic benefit via your breastmilk. I have no idea if the active ingredient actually gets into the milk - remember it would then be diluted by the milk itself.

If you're ok about the baby having something else other than breastmilk direct, then at least if you put it on a spoon (as Devendra suggests) it would reach his tum

thanks both. i'd rather not give it directly to DD but had read somewhere it did reach the bm if you drank it yourself.
clutching at straws..... grin
