Is it safe to breastfeed whilst taking the pill?
I am currently only doing one feed a day with my 11 mo DD and sort of vaguely plan to stop soon, but need to go on the pill for reasons other than contraception. Is it safe? Anyone?

I think the doc will suggest that you go on the mini pill while breastfeeding. Have to be more accurate with the time of day you take it for it to work well. Google mini pill or progesterone only pill for more info.x

the combined pill can affect your milk supply so the mini-pill would normally be recommended if you were still breastfeeding.

In your situation you may want to still go with the combined pill. The combined pill can definitely make a big difference to milk supply. However it is safe for the baby if you take it while breastfeeding. The risk is to your milk supply not to the baby's health. If you are concerned about an overlap between starting the pill and weaning you don't need to worry.

Thanks everyone, will check out which type of pill is best in my case. Feel reassured
