DS is nearly 5mths and I've been expressing for him when he's at the CM's (he began going there 2 weeks ago).
I have been basing fridge/freezer storage times on what is laid out on the kellymomwebsite, though it seems v long.
On Monday the CM told me he had seemed to turn his nose up at one of the 2 bottles, as if it tasted bad, but ended up taking it. He cried a lot in the pushchair and he was very sick a wee while after that. I wonder if it was the EBM, as I'd expressed it late on Friday night and he'd had it on Mon around 9am. Had it been too long in the fridge?
Then today the same sort of thing happened with a bottle of frozen EBM dated 20th Aug, though he wasn't sick, just seemed to dislike the taste of the milk, finally took it and then cried a lot. The CM said the milk when defrosted looked very thin and pale, not as yellow and creamy as it usually does.
Could it be that my milk has a short shelf life? Is there any other explanation? I'm happy to store the milk for only 24h in the fridge, but if I can't freeze some to have a stock for the days when I can only express once at work, then I may have to give formula, and I'd really rather not...
