Anyone got experience of switching from breast to bottle back to breast ?

Am wanting some advice for my neighbour. Her baby daughter is 2 weeks old. BF went really well to begin with but one nipple cracked and got really sore then that side got mastitis. The AB my neighbour took (she's penicillin intolerant) affected the baby who screamed for 24hrs so she decided to switch to bottle feeding.

Two days later (fully engorged - she wasn't expressing) she tried her back on breast again and the first feed went well but the second feed there just wasn't any milk.

Does anyone have any idea how long it would take to build up her milk supply and how she should go about it?

Cheers

tell her to spend the next few days in bed wth baby with her top half bare, laying the baby on the breast and feeding as often as she wants.

it's highly unliklely that there was no milk there, even if she believes there wasn't.

i would find out about local LLL groups or baby cafes and get her to go along and see a BFC about it.
but in the meantime, plenty of skin to skin, encouraging baby to latch on and feed and feeding before giving any formula supplements will help keep her supply up
