ds is now 11 months old and still getting 2 bfs a day (morning and night). Daytime feeds are formula from sippy cup. My periods still haven't started, not that I'm complaining , but I was just wondering when they are likely to return.

It's different for different people. Mine are not due back for another 2 months. The DTs are almost 16months and my period has always come back at 18 months.

mine took 9 months! but i stopped breast feeding at 8.5 months, so thats probably why. Everyone in my antenatal group started a few months after the births - even those breast feeding more than me! One of the doctors at work just said I'm sensitive to breast feeding and its keeping my hormones at bay. No more though !

mine started gain at 8.5 months, when I was down to 1 short breastfeed a day. so the holiday is over for me!

Mine came back straight away and I'm so of all of you! I hope they stay away for a bit this time round!! I think it's different for everyone - it depends on how much Aunt Flo likes you!

Lucky you ! Mine returned at 5/6 weeks with both but not regularly until ds was 5 months old when I had started to wean ds. I had a mirena coil fitted when dd was 10 weeks, having had a second period by then. Remember though, you ovulate before a period returns, so you could get pg again without having any.

dd is now almost 13 months and still no AF. Still bf several times a day though. I actually WANT her back because I'd like another baby!

My periods came back exactly a month after I stopped breastfeeding. Stopped bf at 9 months, periods back at 10 months.

I stopped b/f at 4 months and periods didn't come back until 9 months. Have now had three since the end of April though!

DS2 is 18 mths, feeding 3-4 times a day and still no periods. With DS1 they returned at 12 mths when he was on 2/3 feeds a day.

7 weeks after birth of DS - every 4 weeks since then like clockwork. He is now 18 weeks and still exclusively breastfed! Premenstrual boobs and breastfeeding is not fun!

Stopped bleeding after the birth at 9wks, and got my periods back at 12wks. Think it was because DS slept through from 10ish until 7ish from 3 days, and I've read somewhere that the night feeds help to keep AF at bay. I was gutted, as my mum had had to stop feeding me at 18m to get hers back in order to get pg again. Was hoping I'd be the same.
