How much milk is in a feed?

My 7 week old ds feeds about every 2 hours and is generally on for 30-50 mins each feed.

I want to have an afternoon to myself and have been expressing and freezing but how much roughly will we need to defrost for each feed.

Thanks for any input...

There is a calculator to estimate this on the Kellymom website. The link is here www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkcalc.html

I would leave way more than you expect IYSWIM. I was amazed by how much DS took at this age. First time I went out in the afternoon (around 6 weeks) I left a 5 oz bottle, which was drained leaving him still restless and hungry. Next time I went out a few days later he took 7 oz!! (in about 5 mins apparently... unlike my usual 30 - 40 min feeds - ah well..). Best to leave too much and he just takes a little rather than leaving too little.

It is amazing how much they take from your breasts. Def don't underestimate how much they feed!
