Infant feeding

I've been ill and haven't eaten for two days - only sipping water. Will my milk dry up?

I can't keep anything down, even weak squash, so far. DS is exclusively breastfed so soldiering on with that but I'm worried the milk will run out or be poor quality. Can anyone reassure me?

You have absolutely no need to worry in any way whatsoever

Sometimes, mothers who have been really ill notice a temporary dip in supply, but it soon gets back to normal...baby may feed more often in order for this to happen.

Quality is unaffected.

Please don't worry - I went nearly four days without eating much when I had food poisoning and my GP said it was very unlikely to affect the milk. I think your body directs resources where it's needed.

Have you tried those fluid replacement drinks? They taste horrid, but worked for me. That and flat coke.

Hope you feel better soon.
