Infant feeding

Agony! Aaaargh!

Just wanted to write it down really. I've woken up in agony with lumpy blocked ducts - kept the wrong bra on for sleeping and I think it has put pressure in the wrong places. Feeding ds (4 months) is like hot needles in my nipple and he keeps pulling away, making the pain excruciating!

I know I just have to feed through it, and massage the lumps, but I just wanted a bit of sympathy

And, I have to do a bag-packing event in Sainsburys later - I feel rotten!

As he is 10 months old now, I now only need to carry them if he has had a growth-spurt feeding fenzy!

That's part of the reason for this today actually. He had his imunisations on Thursday and there's been more than a few comfort feeds in the last couple of days. Trust him to sleep through last night! I'll bet he won't do it tonight though.

Thanks for the support, I really do feel rotten, all my joints ache as well, flu symptoms.

It will pass - that's my motto

Maybe if you feel that ill with it, you should go see gp incase its something like mastitis?

And oh yeah dont you just love it when they boost there supply, then go a few hours longer for a feed

I found a vest with boob support useful for sleeping in, as sleeping in a bra was v uncomfortable but needed something to keep pad in place to avoid waking in a pool of milk! Mine were from good old M+S and they also come in a larger cup size. Hope its better soon!

How are you today?

Hiya, yes it's mastitis! The red triangle appeared yesterday afternoon so I went along and got anti-biotics this morning. It's not so sore today anyway, but I still feel feverish and have sore joints. Hopefully will clear up quite quickly now I've started on the tablets.

Thanks for the suggestion mrsmick, I'll try one of those - I have the same problem with waking up in a puddle of milk
