i could only assume it was a joke as none of those 3 people would seriously think i'd take it any other way. even FIL wouldn't get me one, he just used to take his glasses off when i was feeding dd1, i expect he'll do the same with dc2.

Oh aitch I think they're rain-coat material aren't they (to also protect the nervous public from squirty milk), I don't think they'd do a very good job.
Link coming up!
BTW this is not a thread about a thread, we were discussing these on another thread, but this is a spin-off. Just wanted to make that clear

hooter hider? What a hideous name! Is that what they are called?

Report
StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2009 19:08

hide those hooters in style!
Maybe I'm wrong about the fabric - they do look just like material.

i saw a woman in a cafe using one. my god did i feel sorry for her. more people were staring at her thinking wtf is that???! than would have done if she'd just done the old vest down top up method.

although they'd be handy in a shop if you fancied doing a bit of shoplifting.

Ahhh! Fog clears. I thought it was something to do with covering the nose. For swine flu.

As you were.

Well I think you may have come up with another use - well done.
Shall I write to the manufacturers

"When you move on from breastfeeding, cut your hooter hider into small triangles to make stylish but practical face masks for all the family"

they are really just aprons with no ties.

I would laugh my head off.

No wonder people think breastfeeding should be hidden and is dirty and should only be done in private...or a public toilet....

My 9 month old flashed my boobies today! He is a bugger for doing it now!

ellingwoman · 17/05/2009 19:18

It looks like she's trying to hide a dead body.

Report
AitchTwoOh · 17/05/2009 19:21

lol elling. you just know a man came up with the name.

That they thought I really like lobster
Vile things, they're a bit like the bfing equivalent of a red cross on the door when in medieval times.

I thought Hooter Hider was the hilarious MN name for them! I didn't realise that was really what they are called.

The Mawbroon Rollmeister TM

To answer OP, I would thank them graciously, assume they mean well, and eBay it

ROFL!!

Personally speaking I would find some pretext to take my entire top off and bf naked from the waist up as a protest.

However it should be noted that breastfeeding burqas hooter hiders are not the biggest affront to bf women these days. Oh no. Try these.

Silly Sombrero Hat

For the fundamentally religious

Report
melpomene · 18/05/2009 10:17

That sombrero made me smile! I think it's better than the hooter hider because it's still obvious she's bfing a baby instead of hiding it. I can't see it staying on a wriggly baby's head for long, though.
