Infant feeding

Can babies drain a breast faster as they get older?

My 6 week old DS is gaining weight at a fantastic rate and thriving. His feeding times seem to have shortened and I'm wondering if this is because he's a more efficient feeder or because my milk quality has changed so that he needs less in volume. Any ideas?

They definitely get quicker, bubble, they get stronger and more efficient and I THINK the milk quality changes to suit an older baby but I don't know if it changes all that much! Good to know he's getting on fine!

They definitely feed more efficiently. My DD has gone from one hour long feeds in the early days to Less than 10 mins each side and thank you very much I'd rather play now.
