17 week old off her food/playing with it

my 17week old previously a good eater - happily slugging back up to 8oz recently at a feed (was taking about 5 feeds a day - is ff).

but last few days has been very disinterested (no other signs of illness etc) -starting to play iwth bottle, not really interested and only taking about 3/4oz on average per feed with maybe closer to 8oz at last feed of day.

Have changed teats up to larger size , tried feeding in quieter places, more upright etc (as was getting distracted). Any more ideas? she is interested in what we're eating -salivating,watching closely etc but i am not sure that this anti food fad is linked necessarily to weaning.

any ideas - I am trying hard just to go with it as don't want to stress on this but am nonetheless a bit worreid.

mm.. good point - she doesn't seem to have any coming through when I looked but is doign all the usual dribbling/chewing that babies her age do. did your dc go off feeds when teething?

yes, i guess it's a bit uncomfortable for them or something? quite common though.
maybe try a bit of calpol, or some baby bonjela on her gums before a feed and see if that helps?

thats a plan... she has been pulling back and playing iwth teat so it could be her mouth is more sensitive .will try as you suggest and see whehter it works...

Teething granules are a great alternative to calpol. My baby is six mohths old and already has 7 teeth cut. Dont know why when she is only eating mush. The granules work really quickly and she feeds quite happily afterwards as she also seemed to go off her food at times. The granules are a homeopathic remedy, recommended to me by my health visitor
