Infant feeding

How would you keep a breast pump sterile if you had lost the cover thingy that goes on the end of the funnel?

If funnel is the right word. I have an avent isis breast pump and am going to pass it on to a friend but I've lost the cover that you're supposed to put on when you are carrying it about. Will it really matter?

Avent will prob. send for free... don't think I ever used any type of cover, I thought that bit was a stand? (disk shaped)

It's both. How often do you really carry them about anyway?

I would contact them - sure they'd send another if you/your friend are worried

I'll try contacting avent. I bought it nearly 5 years ago(), have they changed since then?

I take my Avent breast pump to work with me in a sterilised tupperware bowl - just pop the bowl in the microwave steriliser when you do the pump parts, reassemble and put in bowl. Then when ready to express I just attach it to the top pump(which doesn't need sterilising) and to the sterilised bottle (assembled and wrapped in cling film)... Convenient too, because then all the dirty parts get carried back to the house in the sealed bowl - no milk all over the inside of my handbag!
