Non-weaning 13 month old

My dd is now 13 months and I'm trying to stop breastfeeding altogether, but she gets very upset (hysterical) if I refuse the breast especially first thing in the morning and as soon as I come home from work - has anyone got any hints?

She takes a bottle fine if i'm not in the house but it's getting to the point where I'm missing out on my evenings with her as she won't let me read her night time story etc without just diving at me...

Anyone? It's driving me nuts as I feel that all she wants to do with me is feed rather than play etc, while with my dh she's far less clingy and whiny as she's not always trying to feed from him.

Sort of having same problem. Thinking about weaning 11mo in next month or 2 but she's really clingy with me and gets quite hysterical wanting to be breast fed at night and in the morning. I don't know how I'm going to get her to sleep without a breast feed. Sorry can't offer any good advice but I'll watch with interest

We've tried loads - dh feeding her a bottle just before I get home, dh getting a bottle ready for me to feed her as soon as I come in... She's also started pulling down my shirt when she wants a feed, which is one of the reasons I want to stop as it's a bit embarassing in playgrounds etc - expecially combined with the subsequent tantrum when I say no...

Yes DD's got quite good at pulling at tops and launching herself face first at my breasts !

Hi MB, just wanted to let you know I got dd to take a bottle from me last night adn then go to sleep. OK this morning she was really upset until I fed her but if I can even eliminate one of the feeds that will be a big step!
