Hi,does anyone have any advice. My nephew is 14 weeks old and is feeding 11oz every 2 to 3 hours. He was 10lb 2 oz when he was born so we thought that he was a big baby so this might be normal but he is just of the scale and gaining more and more weight. At 14 weeks he is now around 21lb. His mother goes to see the health visitors and is told to just keep an eye on it. I have an 8 month old son and he is a big boy at 24lb but never needed feeding that often and that much, she has to make 2 bottles for every feed. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this??

Wow. My dd is 19wks and just over 13 lbs. I really don't know the answer to this but I would perhaps ask for a referral to someone with a lot more experience than a HV as it does seem to be an awful lot. I imagine that once he starts moving in several mths time, he will even out but I would get it checked out.

This is way off the centile chart. I'd ask to see the GP personally, even if his height is comparable.
My ds was last weighed at 24 weeks and was off the scale for his height but only just, and on the 99th centile for his weight. I'm not too concerned but wouldn't want it to be any higher. Even at his hungriest he only downs about 9oz.
