basically curious about any one who has fed their baby longer than two years, cos my boy is now two and a half and still having some milk at night, but he must have massively slowing down without me realising it and ive gained my baby weight so quickly - that i lost effortlessly thru feeding when he was newborn

im quite demoralised now, cos it feels like the baby weight loss was a false achievement cos the bfeeding did it for me, has anyone else experienced this? will it take me a year to lose two stone, i feel impatient and have gained another four pounds the last fortnight fretting bout the two stone - it simply seemed to come from nowhere

and i do still feel hungry a lot -or have i just got used to eating soooo much more that i dont know whats normal now

help - im sad and cant wear anything, with a big family do on sunday, cant face buying any more clothes xxx

My dd is only 4mths so not been bf for long but just wanted to say I know how you feel - still got a good stone to lose and bf not helped!

What I have always found though with losing weight is that the more I stress about it, the more I put on which ends up in a vicious circle.

What I have been trying to do for the past couple of days (I did this a couple of yrs ago and lost weight) is to try and sit down for meals and not be in front of tv/computer/dd on lap. It is probably easier for me as she will have a lot more naps than yours but if you can -that way, I am concentrating more on my food and not just shoving in anything without thinking about it which then makes me hungrier.

Sorry, not much good advice but just wanted to let you know you are not alone - and if you hav elost weight before, you will lose it again. Have you got black trousers and a nice black top and some fancy shoes and jewwellry? That is my standard going out outfit (not that I ever go out these days!).

ahh thanks so much really appreciate your message, cos actually i woke up thinking i cant just blame breastfeeding and have to look at my eating habits

and now your mail confirms what i'd been finally admitting to myself, the whole eating fast /shovelling it in thing is a disaster, i get so tired and worn out that eating two yes two bars of green and blacks chocolate seems normal and acceptable!!

i have always lost weight on holiday with other people cos we eat at set meal times and dont pick in between....or might have the odd small snack. I think being on my own with my son has just meant ive become unaware of my habits

actually today we had lunch together properly outside whereas i often stick him in front of the telly to get some peace whilst i eat like a maniac in the kitchen, it was all going well til i went inside to get some water and came out to find he'd thrown his all over the grass - oh my!

its so frustating but youre right - good jewellery and shoes are good idea - thanks for the support its v appreciated

xx

Good luck with trying to lose the weight - and enjoy your evening out.

Lavenderlu - the trick is to eat slowly, drink more water and really be conscious of what you are eating - it's easy to throw food down because the kids are chucking their dinners around but it's a terrible idea. I went through this at nine months with DD - still feeding her and new DS - she's nearly two, and I used Paul McKenna CDs and lost two stone within two months, without buggering up my supply so it is doable.

The fact that you lost weight before proves you can do this - it's just a question of accepting that you only need to eat the same amount of calories as you burn and that you probably need to make a little bit of effort to move your body more.

But you will do it if you are determined - just don't do what I do, lose all the weight and then immediately get pregnant again

Yup, it was the Paul Mckenna book that I used when I lost weight a couple of yrs ago. It is easier without kids as you can really spend time eating and not worrying that DC is about to wake/you need to tidy up before they do etc etc.

I am starting off by trying to sit down and eat meals more slowly. With snacks, I am trying to not eat too much rubbish but not worry if I can't sit down and concentrate on eating the snack as snacks are usually eaten when I am running around with dd.

I sometimes just have a big drink of water and then eat when DD is in bed. Mind you breastfeeding two is an excellent way to drop several stone quickly!

Ahh i feel so supported i could cry. I actually dashed to sainsburys before the dinner tonight and bought a cardy and trousers and slapped on loadsa make up and my grannie's pearls (?!) Im being really careful at the moment but it felt great to just throw caution to the wind and buy something new

Mum got a real shock when i arrived at the restaurant cos i really did look (and felt) a lot brighter. I've also cobbled something for the 80th tomorrow and i actually feel more confident than i have in ages cos like you say its accessories that can make something come alive

I think ive lost touch with the picking (of food)- and have felt so worn out at times that ive only fancied chocolate and so have just got out of sync on the veg front too

we showed my aunt some of the photos from my son's first christmas and i couldnt believe i was two stone less then. But as you've said ive done it before can do it again. I did once skim through Paul Mck's book and i do so totally get its about being more mindful - and my mind has been on self-comfort and just zoned out zombie eating without realising

THANK YOU GUYS

i will let you know. Im determined to be back on track for christmas. ANd the irony is that last xmas two stone less i still felt fat and that i should have lost a stone - oh dear!!

O and another thing...i bumped into a schoolfriend this afternoon she's just lost two stone and three to go, so i have a bit of an exercise buddy too now !!

THANK YOU XXX

also, whomovedmychocolate....is your eldest still having milk - i cant imagine my boy ever giving up for good?! any info on that area would be appreciated too....i dont mind still feeding at night but in the day i find it so tiring - he only asks when we're at home, and when he's bored or under the weather but it can still be a fair few times a day!

Well done Lavender. Supermarket clothes are great! Try not to put an end date on when you want to lose a stone by as that will just put unnecessary pressure on you (oh, I wish I could take my own advice!).
