Is that ment to happen so soon?

What does it mean about my feeding now?

Have I done something wrong?

chibi Fri 19-Sep-08 18:03:33

what is a star week?

Geepers Fri 19-Sep-08 18:17:51

She means period.

What is wrong with using the word period?

belgo Fri 19-Sep-08 18:19:30

Never heard the expression star week.

It just means that breastfeeding is no contraceptive!

lulumama Fri 19-Sep-08 18:20:45

wow, i had never heard that phrase before.

you have done nothing wrong, just a bit unlucky ! Back to full on contraception

TheProvincialLady Fri 19-Sep-08 18:22:09

Are you absolutely certain it is your period? Bleeding can stop and restart, especially if you have been doing a bit more lately.

belgo Fri 19-Sep-08 18:22:48

I get it now, you mean you star the week in your diary?

NorbertDentressangle Fri 19-Sep-08 18:24:28

I had to click on the thread to see what "star week" was.

No of course you haven't done anything wrong! Just one of those things.

Personally I've never presumed that BFing was a good enough contraceptive anyway -never wanted to risk it!

belgo Fri 19-Sep-08 18:24:29

Better then the acronym AF anywaygrin

misdee Fri 19-Sep-08 18:30:24

star qweek is used for slimming world so i knew what it was. lol

shubiedoo Fri 19-Sep-08 18:32:15

I thought Star Week was a magazine, like Hello!

CaptainFlameSparrowWifeOfJack Fri 19-Sep-08 18:33:20

I like star week grin Like a twinklier version of "moon"

TheProvincialLady Fri 19-Sep-08 18:44:28

Mine's more of a Black Hole week TBHgrin

YeSaltySlurDog Fri 19-Sep-08 18:53:42

Mars week better perhaps? God of both war and chocolate, fits rather well.

You're just unfortunate Div, but I agree could still be post preg stuff rather than proper period.

Divvy Fri 19-Sep-08 19:47:08

I didnt want to put period in the title, not sure why though hmm bashful maybe?

Its from my slimming club days, and there are alot more terms I could have put, if my brain was in full working order, which its not right now wink

Ok so period re-starting is nothing to worry about then, in bf terms....good good smile

As for the contraceptive side not working now...not even done the deed...yet! Got the mini-pill sitting here waiting to be taken, but wasnt sure if it affected milk supply, so not taking it untill we erm...resume full service!

Divvy Fri 19-Sep-08 19:48:07

Oh, its a real period also, as been having pains for a few days, now I know why!

Cryptoprocta Fri 19-Sep-08 21:53:28

Have you expressed any feeds?

Divvy Sat 20-Sep-08 08:23:00

Only twice, and that was a few weeks ago now. Think its cos he is not feeding during the night. Thats been going on now for week and half, so bet thats the reason. bang goes my months free from star weeks!

BEAUTlFUL Sat 20-Sep-08 08:32:04

If you're feeding, shouldn't it be a ...

wait for it...

Drumroll please...

Milky Way week?

BEAUTlFUL Sat 20-Sep-08 08:32:49

sorry, that was awful

Divvy Sat 20-Sep-08 08:34:53

lol, well that better than a jammy dodger week!

Cryptoprocta Sat 20-Sep-08 14:34:37

Yeah, apparently just one "dropped" feed can do this, which is why it isn't a reliable contraceptive. I can't remember whether it's a drop in the hormones that stop ovulation, or a rise in the ones that do. But missing a feed can start that process, if you're unlucky, which you are I'm afraid.

My personal favourite euphemism is "Up on blocks"

SoupDragon Sat 20-Sep-08 14:37:41

Mine started again at about 8 weeks and I didn't miss any feeds. Sometimes it just happens.
