BF baby won't take the bottle

I know this has been done many times before, but I'm trying to get my BF baby (3 months old) to take a bottle of EBM. I've tried with Tommee Tippee bottles and she has occasionally taken it, but more often than not she refuses it.
I've been looking at other MN posts and it seems like Dr Browns bottles and NUK bottles are popular with BF babies who refused the bottle at first. Can anyone tell me which NUK/Dr Brown bottles are best to use? Any success stories of getting BF babies to take the bottle much appreciated!

Hi Rebecca - my dd is currently the same. On a friend's advice I'm giving it a month - she plays with the bottle for about 5-10 mins. Complete waste of milk, but I need it to work! It worked for her and was gentle. But she did it at 5 mths so I worry it may not work yet for dd. I think persevering is the key, I would hve given up after a week if my friend hadn't said how long it took her. Good luck

When I got my ds to take a bottle I had to go to a really fast flowing teat and not the one appropriate for his age cos he was used to a really fast letdown.

my ds2 is 7 months and has consistently refused, since 4 weeks old, to take any bottle (dr b, nuk, avent, mothercare, you name it we have it in the cupboard).

he will drink out of a cup though (water, not milk unfortunately so i am a bit stuck) so might be worth trying? there are some with soft sucky spouts.

DS is 5.5 months old and I've been trying to get him to take EBM in a bottle on and off since about 3 months and, finally, this afternoon he took it! The trick with him was to offer it when he was quite hungry and sleepy. Before he just used to play with the teat and not really know what to do with it but today he just seemed to go for it. So relieved as was having nightmares about him starving when I go back to work in 2 months. I used a NUK bottle which he seemed to prefer over Avent and Medela. Keep at it!

Perseverence is the key! I was advised to keep trying the same bottle and not mess about changing teats etc. Tommee tippee ones - and she takes it now which is a MIRACLE!!! I started trying at 4 months - once a day - trying not to get stressed about it and sometimes she drank a bit but mostly just played with the teat. It took about 6 weeks of this before she actually drank a whole bottle. It was the week I went back to work! so she had no choice.
Good luck and keep trying!
