Infant feeding

Aha, now I know why baby has fed non-stop for 8 weeks...

I know it's normal for bf to want to feed constantly/a lot in first few weeks but he is still feeding quite often - at least every two hours.
Well, took him to 8 week check yesterday... and he is 14lbs (6.4kg) and 64cm (now in 3-6mths clothes) - was a very average 7lbs 4oz at birth so I guess he's been needing it

I have been eating loads since (his) birth too and now feel really justified - bring on the jaffa cakes

Thanks!! (and congrats Starlight )

Feeling v proud, as I mixed fed dd, then ff from 3 weeks. Ds has been exclusively bf...

Have just trusted that I had enough milk, been leaking (althought that did calm down after 3 weeks) but have never really felt full or engorged... ds seems to sick up after every feed though, dread to think what size he'd be if he didn't!

Welldone. I've been in the same boat with ds since birth. Last week he was 16lb 12oz at 12 weeks. I've avoided the siren call of the formula by not having an emergency packet in the house so it was BF or nothing. Its a bit relentless though isn't it?
