Periods when breastfeeding

My period started wehn ds was 8 weeks and I was and still am exclusively bf. Does it take a while for periods to get back into a regular pattern?

I would presume so.

DS1 was about a year before I had a period (excl. bf).

Ds2 was about 5-6 months before I had a period (mixed feeding).

DD3 is 5 months today and still no period, but lots of periody cramps ie a few days at a time every few weeks, but no actual period.

Can't actually remember whether my periods were regular after the first ones with ds1&2(sorry not much help!)

I think it varies. I had no AF for 15 months after ds2 born and they were immediately pretty regular (3 so far). I was never at all regular before I had children.

I left out half of my message

DS is now 15/16 weeks and I haven't had a second one , so that's why I was wondering if it's normal for them to be irregular! As far as I remeber they where after having my other two but they didn't start as early as 8 weeks.
