DS is 4 months and i am wondering what to do about birth control, i used to be on microgynon 30 and if i didnt want to come on my period i would just keep taking it.

how does the mini pill work? do you still get periods? i still havent had a period since falling pregnant with ds, will it make me have one when i start taking it??

AFAIK, the mini pill is AFAIK, the mini pill contains progesterone (sp?) only. In some women it causes irregular periods and for others no periods.

I have been taking Micronor (a mini pill) since having DD in Jan. I haven't had a period since falling pregnant with her. That might be the mini pill but also might be because I fed her exclusively to 6 months (although still no period since she started solids and dropped a few feeds).

Might be worth discussing it with your GP?
Also, if you do a search there are a few on the mini pill and periods.
HTH!

I went back onto the mini pill (which is progesterone only, oestrogen can effect your milk supply) when DD1 was 6 weeks old, and had a mirena coil (which releases low levels of progesterone into the uterus) fitted when DD2 was about 3 months old.

I had no periods until I came off the pill when DD1 was 14 months old, and this time around my periods came back when DD2 was about 18 or 19 months old.

The mini pill is completely compatible with breastfeeding, and will give you extra protection and peace of mind, if you are actually managing to find the time and energy to have sex that is!!!!
