Okay, folks, less than two months to go before this year's Breastfeeding Challenge, Oct. 11, 2008. I am issuing a personal challenge to each and every breastfeeding mother here in this Group to participate this year:

• find a local site, or if there is none, host a site! Invite a couple of breastfeeding moms over for tea that day or arrange to meet at the park.

Wouldn't it be a shame if your town or even country had no participants, and you could have easily counted yourself in?

It's easy to be counted!

To host a site:
1) register at www.babyfriendly.ca
2) show up that day and count the babies breastfeeding at 11:00 am local time
3) input your numbers on the website after the event

BREASTFEEDING CHALLENGE GOES GLOBAL!!

The Breastfeeding Challenge goes GLOBAL this year!! We are delighted to annouce that the Breastfeeding Challenge is going global this year. In an effort to encourage mothers all aroudn the world to breastfeed. Health workers in Asia are working in overdrive and have lined up 16 countries which will be participating. In Canada and the US site registration has been slower this year because of the date change but it should pick up in the next 8 weeks. In Europe there are four countries reporting that they will be hosting sites. So spread the word on October 11th women around the world will be standing together for breastfeeding!
