DS has terrible wind. Half of the time he doesn't bother with it but the other half he seems very aware that he's passing wind and becomes quite upset and goes red in the face and cried. Almost like he's trying to squeeze it out of himself.

He's not constipated as we've got lots of dirty nappies during the day but I wonder if this is normal?

DH seems to think because he's a newborn that he doesn't know what passing wind is all about so may be doesn't know how to control his bowels and bottom.

Are you bf? I found that if I ate dried apricots it gave my boys really painful wind!

perhaps try a different formula? they're not all the same and it might be something in there causing your baby pain?

What formula are you using? Dd1 was really farty, they smelt horrendous, and seemed to cause her pain, also her poo was massively runny and smelly. We were using Aptamil, and I think it was because of the Prebiotics. We switched to hipp organic, as it was the only one without these added, and it stopped, she was a little constipated for about a week after, but I think this was just the effect of changing.

Hello, my 4 and a half week old was on Aptamil until recently. He was certainly gicing my husband a run for his money in the farting stakes!!! :0

My two DTs farted loads. Infact so loudly that I often thought it was DH that was farting .

Switched to Dr Browns bottles and it really reduced the wind.

Now moved to AVENT as Dr Browns are a pain to clean - but Dr Browns are definately the thing for wind.
