That's it really.

Positions, lifting, etc that I can pass on to someone else

Oh, and I'm a great aunt btw (well, DH is a great uncle really but since we are now married.......)

Oh, congratulations, VVV!

If she can bf lying down, that'd be good, otherwise rugby-ball hold to stop baby pressing on tummy wound.

How much support has she got around her? She needs waiting on hand and foot, ideally (don't we all?!) - someone to change the baby, hand her the baby, etc.

Lots of support but not sure about how helpful it will be iyswim?

Spoke to grandma today, and she'd said that she'd tried to get baby to latch last night but she was really uncomfortable and in pain from the op. I mentioned about skin to skin contact and she said there had been lots - particularly the Dad who took his top off for a cuddle with her etc etc.....!!!

Not quite what I meant so I dont know how helpful the MW's are being regarding feeding or whether there is any outside interference......

Gosh I'm being cryptic I know but.....

Can you print out the leaflets on here for those supporting her?

I always found lying down more painful TBH as it sort of 'bent' the wound IYSWIM

Lots and lots of pillows - at least two with a bendy one on top; or rugby ball style with pillows round side and back helped me. I also found sitting in bed more difficult than in an upright chair (dining chair perfect) in the early days, but it took me 3 CSs to realise this. You sort of slump in bed and this puts more pressure on wound.

Remind her to TAKE THE PAINKILLERS. Even if she's a closet anti-chemical organic lentil weaver. It really really does help get BF established. You often don't realise you're in low grade pain and you want to puddle through until you take the tablets and realise how much better you feel all round.

Those leaflets are ace. Will print them off and give to MIL who is visiting on Saturday. We wont be able to go and visit until at least Sunday.
