Stopping breast feeding 7 month old

Hi all, was hoping for some advice please. My 7 month old was exclusively breast fed for 5 and a half months.Since then, i have been trying to introduce bottles, both ebm and ff but they have all been refused. Until 4 months he would take the occasional bottle of ebm from myself or other people, but then began refusing. Have tried many teats, different formulas, cups etc with no success. I have decided it is time to stop bf for several reasons. The problem is, he is refusing to accept any milk from bottles, beakers, spoons etc.Other wise, he is doing really well, he is now eating three solid meals a day, drinking small amounts of water from a beaker and bf 3 times a day. I am concerned that if i stop feeding without a replacement of formula, he will be lacking in nutrients/calcium etc. Any advice on how to move on from here would be appreciated.

i had to go cold turkey at ten months as he refused anything except me. had all of my friends, dh and even the hv trying to feed him, and him throwing a track (he had some sort of plastic phobia from being nebulised a lot at 3-4 months...)
after two days he cracked, but we had to go straight onto cows milk as he wouldn't touch formula. he was a fairly monstrous size though, so we figured he had a fair amount of reserve...
it didn't help that we lived in a fairly hot climate, and i was convinced he was going to dehydrate...
no idea about formula etc, but ds was a lot more amenable once he realised the two hourly mummy tap was off for good...

I've been told cow milk more palatable and personally can't stand the smell or taste of formula so thats my plan once dd reaches a year. Though it may be sooner as she has two teeth and isn't afraid to use then (10 mths now)

You are right that a baby needs breastmilk or formula until age of 12 months.

You want to give up bf. Baby wants to continue. Can you compromise by cutting down the opportunities for him to bf, to say, morning and evening only? He will probably be able to get what he needs and you can offer other fluids during the day and not worry too much about whether he takes them.
