He seems to hate bf :(

My lo, just as i have decided I want to go back to exclusive bf, seems to have forgotten how to bf. He pulls off and starts screaming, so I assume I've got no milk and give him a bottle of expressed - then I immediately express and there's milk in there!

He has never been satisfied by b/f. I think it's my own fault for introducing a bottle too soon. He's 15 weeks now and I introduced expressed milk in a bottle from the first week as he was always crying with hunger and frustration.

He has a good latch according to my hv, (but that was in the early days, could he have lost it??)

Sometimes I wonder if i am overfeeding him, as he will feed for a few minutes and then wriggle and lose attention. Then he is grumpy 20 mins later and wants feeding again. Again, if I offer him a bottle he gulps it all.

I'm so confused Please help sorry for ramble

Have you spoken to anyone except your HV about his feeding? It sounds to me like you could really benefit from ringing one of the BF helplines and talking this through in detail with someone who really knows their stuff.

You will find the numbers of all the helplines on the right hand side of this page

I was told that different muscles are used for bf than for bottle feeding and it is easier for a baby to bottle feed than to bf. It could be that after being bottle fed he is finding bf too much like hard work?
I would keep trying he will get there I'm sure, good luck.

Have a look here and see if there is a group near you that will help.

Stop offering the bottle, if he has an easier alternative he will go for it. Keep offering, do skin to skin, cosleep, cobath. Try and keep calm, you will get there.
