DS suddenly refusing food and bottle!

DS is 8 months old and has always had a very demanding/ difficult temprement! He whinges and moans on and off all day and always has done. My main problem is that the last 3 days he has been taking less and leass solids and just turning away and crying whenever I bring his bottle to his mouth. he arches his back and really struggles to get away. I have to rock him and almost force the bottle in his mouth, once it's in, he relaxes and will feed OK but only about 4 oz before he's had enough and spits it out. It's vey unusual for him as he normally drains 8 oz bottles and is OK with solids. He only has one tooth but there does seem to be one coming next to that one, could it be teething realated or is it something more serious?

It is probably teething related, but he might have an ear infection or something. My DD refused to feed when her ears were bad as i think lying back was more painful for her.

I'd take him to the docs to get him checked out in the morning.

It doesn't seem to be painful for him to lay back really. He is fine laying in my arms as long as I don't bring a bottle near him! I don't understand. I will take him to the docs tomorrow, I am a bit concerned cos he normally loves food and it's very inlike him to refuse a bottle. Normally, he's a bit like me and eats whatever is being offered! He has been OK with finger foods the last few days though, which is why i don't understand it. He must be hungry.

Can you try him with a cup? he may have just taken an exception to the bottles? especially if he is teething and it's sore to have the teat in his mouth. Are his nappies still as wet as normal? Dehydration might be a worry if he isn't taking in enough fluids.

I hope he picks up with it soon. My DD has had a nasty tummy bug for weeks now and it's such a worry whether she is eating enough.

He drinks water from a cup but it's one without a spout or teet, kind of like a normal adult cup but with a lid and a gap for the water to come out. Was reccomended it whilst breast feeding to give expressed bm in. has been OK with this but doesn't seem to want a teat in his mouth. Maybe it is teething but I'll take him to docs just to make sure. I hate him not eating, it's the one thing he's really good at (apart from sleeping thankfully!)

Anyway, his nappies are still wet and normal coloured wee so I don't think he's dehydrated but obviously it is a concern if it continues. Thank you for your help!
