ive been breast feeding exclusively for 9wks now but beginning to find it tiring so want dh to help out. I want to introduce a FF top up before ds goes to bed so can have a break in the evening and hopefully ds will sleep a little longer. However ds doesnt seem to be taking to the bottle or formula he screws his face up at the taste of it and cries. Ive tried expressing but find it just creates double the work and to be honest ive hardly managed to get a drop. Do i just keep trying him with the botttle its onle been the second night?

Keep trying. My DS had one bottle a day from two weeks and it worked successfully for 6 months. Your baby will whinge because it's not the same as your breast but he'll get used to it. Perhaps try with a morning feed rather than a night time one and then swap round once he's got the hang of it.

It's your choice of course but you need to know that formula isn't anything like as appropriate for the baby as BM.

If you express in the morning you can get more and it really is a case of practice making perfect (I used to feed off one boob and express using Medula electric pump on the other side)

Another option is to use a cup althoguh I never managed it.

Persevere with the bottle or maybe try co-sleeping?

Sorry you're so tired.I know from experience that it is hard work at this stage.Well done for manging it thoguh.
