Infant feeding

I've got a biter!

DD has started biting me and it REALLY HURTS! She does it on her evening feed before bed after she's filled her tummy. Until very recently she suckled until she was relaxed and sleepy, but in the last couple of days she had just bitten my nipple as soon as it went close to her mouth and then I've been too scared to put her back on!
We've just started BLW and she's teething. Her bottom incisors came through at 14 weeks, one top incisor came through the other day, and the one next to it is just coming through.
I screamed when she did it and immediately broke her off, but she gave me a very curious look and then did it again!
I'm not going to stop bf but what can I do?

I've had this happen to me recently. After the usual shocked reaction from me I said 'no' to her quite firmly (she's only 5 months, don't expect her to understand, just starting as I mean to go on). Then before I let her back on I gave her my knuckle / finger to make sure she wasn't going to bite again (she too is teething) then when I knew she was going to suck I let her on but kept my finger until I knew she was properly latched on for a feed.

My Ds bit me just once and I screamed! he never did it again. My Dd on the other hand kept doing it and she didn't get any teeth until almost a year old. She also started to bite my shoulder, thigh etc...In the end, I flicked her lips when she did it, it did upset her, but I only had to do it a couple of times before she got the message and stopped.
Hope that helps.
