Infant feeding

11 week DD is FF and just started to "refuse" feeds - am worried about her

Can anyone help/shed any light, offer support or generally symapthise/share experiences?
My dd is 11 weeks old and has been ff since 5 weeks with no issues. She has always fed really well on formula, and until last Friday was taking between 4 and 5 ounces at each feed - sometimes downing it in ten minutes! I had just started to think about increasing her feeds a bit when the problem started.
I usually stop during a feed to wind her - about halfway through. I always have, it works well for dd, and she usually prompts this break, then finishes off her feed. However since last Friday, each time I do this, when I try to put the bottle back in her mouth she screams as though I am about to murder her, gags, sticks her tongue out, pokes the teat back out with her tongue - so hard it bends backwards, and generally seems to do anything to avoid having any more. Consequently - she has been having about half her normal amount. I have been able to "persevere" a few times and get some more down her, but has taken around 45 minutes to an hour!
I have tried spending longer winding her - in case she has trapped wind, but she does seem to burp well. I have also tried going back to her with a bit more milk later on (outside of her normal feed times - which are roughly every four hours during the day) but she is still having none of it - she looks at me like she knows what I'm up to!
What else can I try?

Don't know if this would solve it - but have you tried changing teats? It could be that the teats you've been using are now too "slow" for her and she's rather bored and tired of sucking by the time you offer it to her again???

Have you tried not winding her half way? I never used to do this with dd, she'd just guzzle the whole bottle and then I'd wind her if she needed it.

Thanks - I have tried changing teats, it makes no difference. I am trying to get her to take as much as possible before winding her, rather than just stopping as I used to, but she spits it out by sticking her tongue out.
I have just spent 20 minutes trying to get her to take 1oz!! Arrrgh.
Meant to also say that I went to GP on Monday for another reason, and asked while there, so sore throat and ear infection were ruled out. GP said just keeping trying for another week and see what happens.

could it be the 12 week growth spurt? i remember DS doing this - lots of fussing at breast, coming off screaming etc etc around this time. Lots of women on my postnatal thread went through similar.

they can get very fussy etc around growth spurts. see this link.
