Infant feeding

Engorged breasts

My third baby in three years is due in March, and I have chosen to bottle feed again. However, with my previous pregnancies I have had terrifically engorged breasts for upto three weeks after delivery. I have tried epsom salts, cabbage leaves, ice, keeping them cool, but nothing worked. I even had mastitis last time (after a 34 week emergency c-section and running after a toddler while spending 2 weeks at SCBU). I know there is something they can give you because Jordan (don't laugh!) mentioned it in OK, but I have found the medical profession extremely unsympathetic (retribution for not breast feeding is the impression I get). Has anybody ever been given anything ?

I've heard that decongestant medicines containing pseudoephedrine (like Sudafed or Nurofen Cold & Flu) can lower your milk supply.
