Tommee Tippee bottle/breast pump advice please

Hi! Looking for some advice please. I had an Avent hand pump and bottles for DH almost 3 yrs ago and an avent steam steriliser. I breastfed till he was 18 mths but used the pump loads for expressed bottles and I actually wore it out so I need a new one this time round (due in 2.6 weeks)

So, just seen that Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature pump is half price in Tescos as are bottles and steam steriliser. Should I get the lot or will the Tommee Tippee pump be compatible with my Avent steamer and bottles?

Anyone got a clue?

Was just about to ask a question about the half price Tommee Tippee bottles myself. I think you should be able to use any equipment in any steriliser, regardless of brand. As for the pumps co-ordinating with bottles, I think those 'closer to nature' bottles have a wider neck than the Avent ones, so might not fit directly, but you could always use one bottle that does fit and pour expressed milk into the TT bottles.

Off to post my own question now...

it would be compatible with your existing steriliser but beware- the pump ime is crapola- i'd stick to the avent isis for a hand pump!

MiloMummy and Poblets mum - I have a TT breast pump and Avent bottles. I have just checked for you, and the TT breast pump comes with two different bits to screw onto different bottles, so you can either pump directly into the TT closer to nature bottle that the pump comes with, or into an Avent bottle.
The breast pump actually comes with it's own microwavable sterilising box (only big enought for the pump though). It also fits into an Avent microwave steriliser (yes, I have multiple sterilisers and bottles cos I bought things and then found better ones).
I think the TT breast pump is fab- really easy to use and put together, and it gets my milk out very quickly. I am so glad I bought mine....

Thanks so much for the advice everyone, especially strawberrylace. I had a great milk supply first time round and was a super fast pumper so hopefully the pump design won't matter that much anyway. (I also like the idea of 3 parts instead of 6) Think for the sake of a tenner I might as well get the steriliser as well (which comes with bottles) then I can fathom out what's gonna work for me and pass on what I don't need. Thanks everyone
