We've spent weeks researching and testing breast pumps and bottles in real homes with real families. Read our baby feeding bottle and breast pump reviews to find out which ones were awarded Mumsnet Best.

Hi,
I have decided that I'm going to bottle feed but I'm not sure which is the best formula to choose from?
Once upon a time it seemed people always used sma but now there are a few different brands im not sure which one to start with?
Can anyone recommend the best formula?
Thanks x
You might want to get this moved out of the style and beauty topic but short answer is they are all the same. Choose one that you can get in your corner shop/late night shop in case you get caught short!
Hi there, @Cr17 - we're just bobbing on here to say that we've moved your thread over to our Infant Feeding topic and we hope you get some useful advice here.
Yep second this. All the same. We totally randomly ended up with SMA when the nurse in the hospital brought that theough randomly after a night of breastfeeding for 10 hrs straight. Baby seemed ok on it so we stuck with it. If I had to choose again I'd go with the cheapest kind that also comes in the ready made bottles.
Gah, overuse of randomly. Sorry.
Sorry, didn't notice I selected the wrong area 😁
I was recommended to use the brand your local shop always stocked so no problem in buying it when you needed more .
We use cow and gate at the moment but we are struggling with winding and other stuff, is it bad we use infacol all the time and is it ok if we do use it all the time?? Also thinking of changing to actimel because of it just wanting to see what other people’s experience is with that
Aptamil is made by the same manufacturer as Cow and Gate. Just remember that more expensive doesn't mean its better. Use whatever is easy to get
