Tell me about your favourite nursing bra....

...because I've spent too much trying to find the best one!

I am looking for something that separates my breasts rather than pushing them together as all the M&S ones seem to do. I have had umpteen bra fittings, and have the standard M&S two pack in about 10 different sizes . It has to be cotton, or at least the cups must be lined with cotton.

Has anybody had a fitting from an NCT bra fitter? Any use?

Natural Birth Centre did lovely soft ones with very thick band of elastic underneath.I never wanted to take it off.

I've got one of those, and it is probably the best of the bunch. However, it seems not so great anymore. Perhaps I need to reorder in a different size - I've lost a lot of weight since I bought that one (and worn it a lot too! )

Oh the Royce, without a doubt. Wore them all through both pregnancies and to bf up to 4 months, when DD weaned herself. They are soft, durable, look pretty and are very good, even for big and old birds like me (46)

Can't remember the details of where it was from etc but my favourite was one that I could do up one-handed.

I had others that took 2 hands to do up after a feed and it was a complete PITA as you had to put baby down to pop your nork back.

Small detail I know but it mattered to me.

I went into a contessa shop to look at nursing bras - and they've stopped selling them . What are breasts actually for? . I complained... heard nothing back. They suggested a sports bra instead!

FWIW depends a lot on size. i was stuck in vile royce ones but not a lot in a 32H.

BettySpaghetti - very valid point! Wriggly DS2 and flapping norks - not a good combo! Tried the zip up ones once - baaad mistake! I could do with three hands to do that one up!

It's a Freya from Bravissimo as recommended by several MNers.

Bravissimo shops stock them (also www.bravissimo.com but John Lewis have quite a lot of Freya bras so they might have it as well.

x-posts lulu25 Yes - I'm a 32/34 F now, so it's getting a bit harder to get shops that stock the size for me to try. Not that you'd know to look at me - my boobs look tiny (unless I stuff them in a wonderbra like I did night before last - that was interesting )

Fine at home but when out and about, or in company, flappage is often best kept to a minimum

elle, are you reading by any chance? you could make a ton of money off big-boobed women.

i bought one of the freya ones but sent it back because it was so hideous and no better than the royce ones.

Elle Macpherson Maternelle's for me too! I have it in Black & in Pink (got the matching knick knacks too!!) I love them as they've got the piece of material that stays over the top of your boob whilst the flap is down (is there a name for it???!) so you dont have to go hunting for the clasp over your shoulder in the middle of the night

i love my anita underwire ones. Am a 34f. I have tried the freya one not supportive enough and the same verdict for the elle macpherson one.

My favorite nursing bra was the one that the cup was a flap & would unsnap.

freya jasmine does it for me. I like the shape the royce jasmine ones give me, but the underband always rolls up in an irritating fashion and looks very noticeable under fitted tops...

...that's all I've been able to get; choice is very limited when you are an H cup!

The freya from bravissimo definitely! - was highlight of my life when it came in a black in the latest catalogue! have had emma jane (cuts in underneath) & royce (four boob effect, even tho' right size - left a gap round the side!). anita from bravissimo also lovely, very comfy, but not quite as uplifting.

can't believe there isn't more choice out there for big boobs!

Royce Candy definately! Freya is good, but i had to get one cup size too small (am a hefty H cup now). I think i got my Royce ones from Simply Be - or was that my HUGE swimsuit !

I read - on my travels searching for a good nursing bra on the internet - that there is a charity you can send bras too - i thought that was a great idea because i have them in all sizes now and cant bear to chuck them as some have hardly been worn. Apparently they send them abroad - although im afraid i cant remember where i read it or what the charity was called. Im so useful...
