6 week old - wanting feeding every 90 mins

Looking for some advice if there is any to be had

Currently mix feeding baby who will be 6 weeks in a few days. Two bottles of formula per day (approx 5 ounces per feed) plus boob.

Always offer both boobs, normally feeds off one. Believe supply is pretty good, have no problem expressing and freezing extra in preparation for going back to work in April.

Never goes more than 2 hours between feeds day and night. At his worst, I'm feeding every 45 minutes. He takes himself off boob at feeds and when drinking formula, I've tried offering more but never takes more than 5 ounces.

Is there anything else I can be doing? I'm pretty resigned to the fact that he's just not a good sleeper (day or night) and has his dad's appetite.

Sorry OP this all sounds pretty normal. There are some things you can do to try and get him to feed more, like trying breast compressions or these tips on feeding sleepy babies but he may just start to settle more naturally.

As for feeding at night, he is probably still a bit mixed up about day and night. I'd get him up in the morning and change him and then get him outside in the daylight. Make sure he's outside at least twice in the day as daylight can help sleep at night. Keeping days bright and noisy and nights quiet and dim might help too

90 mins is normal at this age. Breast feeding at night will help him get back to sleep (rather than bottle) Do you cosleep so you can latch him on and fall back to sleep?

Breastfeeding works in a supply and demand basis so babies go through phases of cluster feeding to increase supply. Hormones mean it's particularly effective to cluster feed over night. 6 weeks is a typical time for them to go through one of these phases.

Breast feeding gets much easier around the 12 week mark in my experience.

Hi there not really the same but looking for advice ? My LG is 7 weeks tomorrow and feeds regularly every 4 hours a day 6oz and is gaining weight ..
but yesterday my hv said she should be having 8 feeds a day ? Surely if my LG is sleeping from 12-7am and not waking up crying for a feed I shouldn't wake her ?
She was 8.8 when born so is gaining weight and growing well ?! Should I just continue with what I'm doing
