Wind / Reflux / Tummy ache

My DD is 14 weeks and since about 4 weeks old she has been so fussy with her bottle. (FF)
She starts off fine for the first 1 or 2oz but then she starts straightening out and flailing her arms and grabbing out at me and around her.
She might then make a few gulping noises then turn her head side to side to get bottle out and will moan or cry.

I have tried different bottles, different teats, different teat sizes, milk temperature, winding often, winding only when fidgety, sitting her more up right or reclined. Different milk and even tried Nutramigen milk which is for dairy allergy.

Nothing seems to work and every feed is a bit of a battle. I dont force her when she gets like this I let her stop but it means she doesnt get much milk and only does about 20oz a day. Never more than 5oz in one sitting, more like 3 or 4oz.

She doesnt vomit as such but she does spit up but after a few minutes she is fine but then wont take the bottle back. Sometimes when i put her in the crook of my arm i.e feeding position she will start crying because she knows whats coming. It so sad she doesnt enjoy her milk at all bless her.

Has anyone has anything similar or any suggestions?

Hi, have you tried getting a prescription for infant gaviscon? Your wee one sounds very similar to ours. It's made a huge difference.

Our DS is 13 weeks and is never sick but every bottle was a battle. Like you we'd tried everything: colocynth, infacol, dentinox, gripe water, changing bottles etc... I then read about silent reflux and insisted the Dr give us something. It's made a massive difference! Overnight he took an extra oz and we don't have the fight anymore every bottle. Hope this helps and good luck x

Oh its so.sad seeing them like that isnt it. My little one like this and she has silent reflux. Started off on gaviscon but ended up on ranitadine and carobel. Also switched to neocate. She is a different baby now. We were lucky (if you can call.it.that) because she was diagnosed in hospital at 3 day old so started treatment very young but I know some people battle for a diagnosis and treatment so if you don't get anywhere maybe get someone to film a feed so gp can see. It's horrible.to even think of filming a horrible.thing like that I know !! Also.wish someone told me this but if she.does go.on ranitadine or what have you make.sure they up her dose with her weight as we learnt hard way when gp refused to up meds then she ended up in a right state all over again. So now I have to pester and pester but its worth it for babys sake. How does she sleep and does she cough gag and wheeze a lot that's other symptoms and extremely restless always waking up wanting to be held all time, lying flat is also a big issue so we bought a next to me to tilt her at night. It's been a slow ride for us getting her managed but hers is severe (been.admitted a.few times with it) but hopefully for yours it is less severe and gaviscon will work (if they give it you) if not keep pushing cuz it can be better. Good luck! Sorry if I've gone on a bit, could talk on this for hours it dominated our lives for 9 weeks it a just horrible thing for them.to have to.go.through Xxx
