Right until recently I fed dd (12 weeks) before she went to sleep (between 7 and 8 pm) and then let her sleep until she woke up around 2.30/3ish she then managed to sleep until 6. For the past week I ve introduced a dream feed at 11.30 and she suddenly wakes up every 2 hours (2am, 4am, 6or 7am). Should I persevere with it or go back to the old she ll wake up when she is hungry routine?

I have read that with some babies, the dream feed can encourage them to wake more frequently, so try a couple of nights not waking her and see how you get on. She might be happier that way and if she's settled into that routine on her own by 12 wks, you're doing really well!

I thought this might work as wello but it didn't! Fed dd 12 weeks old at 11.30 last night she woke at 2.30, 4, 5.45, 8am. Usually feed her at 8 ish and she sleeps through till 5 or 5.30 don't think i will chance dreamfeed again

I tried it too, and DD just saw it as an extra feed so I didn't persevere. I did reintroduce it, though, when she was sleeping later so that instead of waking at 5am, I fed her at around 10pm and she'd go an extra hour or so but that was at about 5 months

Ooohhh so looking forward to that extra hour in bed lol. This one is my surprise baby I have a 16yr,14yr and 13yr old and this little one. The older kids think its funny when I go to bed at 9 cos I'm tired .

feed when she is hungry although the two things could be unrelated, it could just be that she is going through a growth spurt.

I am reading with interest yellowfrin, ds2 is 11 weeks and has been doing 6.45 to 1.45, 4.30, 6.30, 8.30 and I have started doing dreamfeeds at 10.45 two days ago. The first time he missed the 1.45 and went to 4.30, but last night he carried on waking at usual-ish times. Let us know what happens tonight

Dreamfeed worked with DS, but took a week or so to settle into a new pattern
But I couldn't get him to wake up enough to breastfeed, so I expressed and DP gave him a bottle which DS could manage without waking up properly
If you've only tried the dreamfeed for a couple of days, maybe it's worth trying for a bit longer. But then, only 1 night feed sounds pretty good for 12 weeks so maybe you should just skip the dreamfeed.

aaahhhh see now it never makes sense yellowfrin

seriously DD would go really sqiffy sleep wise when having a growth spurt and 12 weeks is the norm I'd say.
