Start using Mumsnet PremiumMilk supply if I dont BF for a day
(6 Posts)My DD is EBF and 5 months old. She's always loved breastfeeding but is now finally coming round to taking a bottle of expressed milk. I've built up a good supply in the freezer. I'm desperate for some time to myself and was wondering if I went out for the day and left her with DP with expressed bottles would that adversely affect my milk supply? I would take my manual pump to relieve any discomfort but will I likely need to pump a lot?
The odd day here and there shouldn’t make a big difference, especially if you make sure to breastfeed lots before and after. At 5 months you will likely be quite uncomfortable, though!
No your supply will be fine. You will definitely need that pump though 😁
I was in agony and cut my 2 day honeymoon to one day! My periods returned after that too
It's fine. Take the pump and enjoy a day off!
Thanks all. My periods aren't back yet so I really hope this doesn't prompt their return. And I will be sure to take the pump!
